The Race across America (RAAM) is renown as the world's toughest bike race and some believe the world's toughest endurance event ‘period’. More people stood on the summit of Mount Everest last year than have completed RAAM throughout its history.Having raced last year as part of a 4-man team, I have been training for the last 12 months to compete solo in RAAM 2009. It will be tough with 110,000ft of climbing and searing heat. Riding up to 300 miles is not easy for 1 day let alone for 10 to 12 days but it is time to see how far I can push myself. I will be racing for the Sabre Charitable Trust and looking to raise money to build a kindergarten for poverty stricken children in rural Ghana.
